Is it Time for You To Consider Affiliate Marketing?

Imagine yourself in a tug-of-war scenario.

You’re on the right all by yourself trying to pull those hundreds and hundreds of customers you want to reach into your marketing funnel. It’s not impossible to pull them all to your side without help.

But what would happen if you added two more people to your side of the rope? You’d pull more customers in, right? What if you added ten more, or fifty, or five hundred?

That’s affiliate marketing. The “affiliates” become your sales and distribution channel. Just as Kraft doesn’t have a Kraft store – they distribute their products through grocers, you are distributing your product through existing firms who have relationships with existing custoner bases. Having an affiliate program is all about the leverage of a team effort. That’s one of the biggest benefits of running your program.

Another thing that happens when you run an affiliate program is that your potential customers start seeing your business in a lot more places. Your logo starts showing up on a lot more sites, there are more articles out there with your name on them and more people are talking about your business. This creates brand awareness.

Recruit Affiliates to Promote Your Product or Services

Seeking out targeted website owners to promote your products is clearly a beneficial online partnership opportunity. Of course, for affiliate relationships to work, you must make sure everything about your business, product and the online partnership are solid and beneficial to the affiliate. In return, you get a sales team that you pay only when they produce results (i.e. you pay out commissions when they make a sale).

So besides the money, why would another firm represent your product to their customers? Good companies care about serving their customers needs. And if your product does that, then many are going to want to do just that.  Also, some firms maynot want to go to the effort (and/or expense) of creating a new product themselves.  Your product may fill a product gap in their line of offers.

OR:  Be an Affiliate for Another Company

Even if you offer your own line of products to your target market, you’ll agree there is always something else your target market needs that they can’t get from you. You can refer your customers to another trusted company to buy those products they are looking for. You earn a commission, and your prospects and customers view you as a reliable source of products and product recommendations.
